New York small businesses (with up to 100 employees) can use the SHOP Exchange. According to the Employer Mandate of the Affordable Care Act, businesses employing 50 or more full-time employees or equivalent must offer them affordable health plans. Employers with fewer than 25 full-time employees who meet certain income requirements are also eligible for tax credits for offering employees health plans.
