Update: The RFP process is now closed.

The Community Service Society of New York (CSS) is now accepting proposals from organizations that serve the small business community to establish the Small Business Assistance Program (SBAP). Awarded organizations will form a statewide network to provide outreach and assistance to small businesses in their communities regarding health care and health insurance. CSS operates a similar outreach and assistance program, called Community Health Advocates (CHA), throughout New York State that helps individual consumers find and use health coverage and care.

CSS anticipates awarding contracts to around 10 organizations, at an approximate amount of $20,000 to $60,000 per organization over an 11-month period (March 26, 2012 through February 28, 2013). Eligible groups include, but are not limited to, local or ethnic chambers of commerce, merchant associations, trade associations, rotary clubs, small business development centers, business improvement districts, county- or city-run small business service centers, or community-based non-profits.
